I’ve done a heap of washing this week of baby clothes and now they’re super soft and ready to go.
At the moment all spaces in the house are pretty messy. We’re in the process of getting lots of things around the house done. The husband generally likes very modern, clean lines and mostly minimalistic, whereas I like colour and patterns and different textures. Luckily he likes these little origami lanterns so I hang them in the bedroom and we can both be happy. Eventually I’ll get rid of the horrible green walls. This house needs a lot of work before I’ll actually feel like it’s my space.
These tiny socks were the first thing I bought when we found out we were having a girl. I don’t want to buy into gender stereotypes and dress my future daughter all in pink frilly dresses, but these socks were just too cute. Also on special!
I’ve been doing more folding for my paper lanterns, which I am determined to finish in the next month. I love the pretty colours. The striped pattern is probably my favourite. Only about 120 more to fold before I’m done.
Finally getting some much needed rain and lower temperatures, hooray! It also means that I get to actually use my umbrellas.
I’m still working on that DIY lantern project. I really like the pattern on these ones.
I decided to turn the awesome tree my friend gave me into an inspiration/goal board. I was trying to take some photos of it for my photo of the day when someone (I’m looking at you annoying husband) decided to stand in front of it like an idiot and pretend he didn’t know what I was doing. Oh well, the joke’s on him because he’s now the subject of the photo of the day. But I’ll forgive him because I love those stripy socks!
I love my shoes. I have way too many of them and only really wear a couple of pairs because they’re not comfortable enough to wear for the whole day, and also I have to wear black at work.
These are some of my favourites, white and navy stripes with a red trim from Diana Ferrari.
I love stripy socks. Actually I love stripy everything, and it comes second to polka dots. These are the husband’s awesome socks.
Ah, the daily ritual of looking around the house for boring things that could potentially make interesting photos. Today’s photo is of some cheap bamboo placemats we got from Target when we first moved out. They’ve held up pretty well, but we only really use them when we have people over, so I guess they don’t really get much use anyway.
My favourite mug is a giant soup mug that I got from Target over 10 years ago that my husband calls my Big Stupid Mug. Today I found the Big Stupid Mug a Big Stupid Friend. Now I have two lovely big mugs to drink milo out of and I won’t be as devastated when the inevitable happens and the original Big Stupid Mug dies.
My workmate is due to have her first baby in 3 weeks and had her baby shower today. I bought this little kitty for her little baby to be. I love its cute stripes and it also rattles. I think I’ll have a lot of fun buying cute things when I have kids (in the distant distant future).
It’s a cold wet wintery day and there’s nothing better than wearing some brightly coloured shoes paired with a bright red coat. The perfect shoes to catch up with my old workmates in. I love these shoes, but sometimes I worry I might look like a clown. I got them from Modcloth and they’re called Are You Sherbet flats in Citrus. They’re sold out, but you can still get them in Lime.
We took a road trip to the Gold Coast late last year and on the way back we stopped at the Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo. It was actually really fun, but incredibly hot. We drove around in the car and parked to get out and have a look at the animals. Every time we got back into the car the temperature had gone up a few degrees. Some people there were too lazy/hot to even get out of their cars.
Here are some of the shots for the day.
