Still waiting and time’s up. Tomorrow is the new d-day, also known as induction day. I can tell this one is going to be stubborn because she just doesn’t want to come out. So I’m having one last cup of (caffeine free) tea in my favourite colourful mug before trying for an early night. I don’t know how much sleep I’ll actually get though. I’ve also been knitting the baby blanket I started so long ago, just to have something to keep me occupied so top myself from going crazy. Unfortunately I still haven’t finished it, even with all this extra time. Maybe for the next baby!
I started knitting this baby blanket when I found out my cousin was pregnant with her second child. Her son is now over 1 and the blanket is not even halfway complete. The husband keeps joking that we can give it to him on his 18th birthday. I’m not even sure if I’ll finish it before then!
I always like starting new projects, but I’m not so good at finishing them even with deadlines. I started ‘knitting’ (more like weaving) this scarf for my mum’s birthday at the end of the month. I found this Elicia ruffle or honeycomb yarn at Lincraft, and at only $8 a ball which makes a whole scarf, it’s not bad. After a rough start figuring out how to cast off, it’s well on its way to becoming an interesting scarf.
I have a million unfinished knitting projects (okay, maybe a slight exaggeration, but it’s at least half a dozen). I’ve been inspired to knit again because it’s nearing my mum’s birthday and I want to make her a scarf as a present.
I found these awesome colourful aluminium needles at Spotlight today, and they even have a ruler on them. I was very tempted to get all the colours (each colour is a different size), but had to restrain myself. I really don’t knit that much!
Hopefully I’ll get this one done in time, but knowing me I probably won’t. Sorry mum.
This, like all my other projects, takes a lot of patience. I’m currently in the process of knitting a blanket for a special someone who I’m yet to meet (no, not mine just to clarify!). Hopefully I’ll get it done before the end of February in time for his arrival. However, it’s already taken me 3 months to get a third of it done so I don’t like my odds. If I knit quite a bit every day I can maybe make it, but after working overtime today and feeling exhausted, I don’t think that’s going to happen. Also my hands get tired after a while. As long as I get it done before winter I’ll be pretty happy, and hopefully so will the recipient.
