Dark zips on my backpack, filled with baby things, packed and ready to go!
Still busy packing and the house looks like a box fort crossed with a landfill. We have a lot of garbage bags around the place at the moment, some filled with actual rubbish but some filled with things to be moved. We just have to be careful that we don’t mix them up!
This is my every day bag (lovingly left in the middle of the living room just for the husband). I bought it a few years ago when my other bag died. I got it for $20, down from $129, so I’m pretty happy with the purchase. Unfortunately because it is a canvas bag and I’ve abused it so much, it now has a big tear down the back and the lining on the inside has come away. It is also very very dirty. It’s time for a new bag, but I’m not sure if I’ll find anything quite like it again. It’s always sad when things I love need to be replaced.
I store all the little origami lanterns (see previous day’s post) I have been folding in a generic Kookai bag. I always feel bad throwing away bags so I end up reusing them. I try to use the reusable canvas/plastic bags as much as I can, but when I forget, plastic bags get used as rubbish bags, and these fancy cardboard bags get used for presents and storage.
I was packing up my camera bag/travel bag when I noticed this little guy slip in. Now, he looks pretty damn weird, but the husband loves it. I got it for a birthday ages ago when a friend was working at Ikea. I still have no idea what it is, but the husband enjoys throwing it at me and putting it on the top of doors to fall down on me and scare me. The blue thing and I have a love/hate relationship. Unfortunately I’m trying to pack light, so it cannot come.
I’m so excited; New Zealand here we come!
