Project 365 2012 – Day 366

Peaceful Ending

Peaceful Ending

The end of the year and the end of Project 365 2012! I finally made it through. It was a huge struggle at times and there have been some amazing shots and some not so amazing photos. I can’t say that I’ll ever really love that moment of panic at the end of the day when I’ve completely forgotten to take a photo and just end up with some junk kind of filler of a photo. However, I am glad that I’ve finally finished a project for once. I know I missed a day, but it’s lucky I have a bonus day up my sleeve, so I’m calling it a success!

Still Christmas

Still Christmas

I haven’t been to Crown in ages, but went out for a friend’s birthday dinner. Like I’ve mentioned before I’m not a big fan of the commercialisation of Christmas, but I really love the way the city is decked out in Christmas decorations. I love shiny thing. These giant baubles are at the entrance of the Crown complex.

Also I know it’s day 365, but it’s not finished yet! One day to go because of the leap year!

Waiting

Waiting

We decided to get some take away dumplings for dinner from our favourite local dumpling joint because we couldn’t be bothered cooking tonight. There are so many places to pick from, but we love this place. It doesn’t have good signage, so when we meet up with friends we have to say that it’s the dumpling place next to the Club X. It sounds seedy, but it’s actually a nice place with good and cheap food. While we waited for our order, we got some complimentary tea. I love the cute little cups.

Gift Wrapped

Gift Wrapped

I went over to my cousin’s for a pre Christmas BBQ, which is really just a regular BBQ. Any excuse to eat really. I long ago decided that we’re to old and have too many relatives to get presents for everyone, so I just wrapped up some lollies for the little cousins. What kid doesn’t like sugar?

Celebrating Togetherness

Celebrating Togetherness

We had an ‘end of the world’ get together last night, which was really just an excuse to have some friends over for food and video games. The theme of the night was to eat our favourite foods, which included pizza, dumplings, chocolate, jelly, and bubble tea. We totally celebrated togetherness as the bubble tea cup commanded, and clearly the world is still here today. Hooray!

Now Includes Teeth

Now Includes Teeth

We had some friends over on Monday night and they brought some snack including a party mix. I love that the packet has some weird blue thing with giant teeth, a dinosaur wearing a party hat, and an orange playing the guitar. It’s so random. I don’t know why, but I think it’s hilarious.

KK

KK

I finally got around to wrapping my KK for work. It’s a weird shape so I don’t think I did a very good job, but I hope my person appreciates it. I made a much crappier version of a hot chocolate mix found here on Hey Georgeous The Blog┬ácomplete with the tiniest bottle of Kahlua. It was so small that I didn’t even get checked for ID when buying it, and with the curse of baby face I always get checked. I really love her DIYs and her photography. It’s so lovely.

Project 365 2012 – Day 352

Worst Blood Test Ever!

Worst Blood Test Ever!

I went to the doctor’s on the weekend for some routine check ups, and she wanted to run some blood tests as well. I’ve never had any issues with blood tests. My veins are easy to find and I have good blood flow. The only time I’ve ever had issues with when I gave blood for the first time and the nurse tied the thing around my arm too tightly and stopped all the blood flow. I’ve never had any issues until now.

Incompetent is putting it lightly. This woman seemed to have no clue, and she was a bit older so I don’t think it was because she was inexperienced. She took almost 5 minutes to find a vein, when I know I have 3 big usable veins in my left arm. She then tied the thing around my arm too tightly because she couldn’t find the vein, which then cut off my blood supply and gave me pins and needles in my fingers. She then complained that there wasn’t enough blood and asked if I was hydrated. Yes, I always drink a lot of water. She discarded the half filled vial and seemed to be really annoyed with me. She had to start again on my other arm. I suspect that she missed the vein because it was hideously bruised. I was not impressed.

This time she hit the vein, got some blood, but I have a feeling that she went through the vein when she jiggled the needle to get more blood because the picture above is what it looks like today. It hurt like crazy at the time, it hurt like crazy afterwards, and it hurts now. She then said I must just be the type to bruise easily, like it was my fault. I really should make speaking my mind one of my new year’s resolutions because I was fuming. What I should I have said was that “No, I don’t bruise easily. I’ve never had issues with blood tests, and it’s not my fault that you’re completely incompetent and crap at your job!” Instead I just smiled meekly and got out of there as fast as I could.

I’ll probably have to wear long sleeved shirts for the next few days so that I don’t scare my clients, and also put up with my husband’s endearing new nickname of Meth Addict Arms.

Sorry about the rant, but it’s a bit upsetting and I’m annoyed that I didn’t say anything at the time. As much as I’d like to make a complaint about her, I know that I won’t. All I know is that the next time I go for a blood test, there is no way I am letting her touch me!

Hugs

Hugs

We’re taking care of our friends’ bunny for a few weeks while they’re away, so expect lots of rabbit photos for the rest of project 365!

Cloudy has had a very adventurous day. We’ve built up some barriers around the TV, shelves and cables. We also blocked the entrances into the hallway with some obstacles. He tried to make a break for it today by jumping over the barriers. Clearly we underestimated how high he could jump. He’s also been trying to jump onto the couch, which we’ve deemed a no no.

Cloudy is a very difficult bunny to catch. I’m not sure he likes being touched that much, but after chasing him for a while he eventually gives up and submits by lying flat on the ground. Once he’s in your arms though, he seems quite happy to have hugs. He’s almost as hairy as the husband’s arms.

Visitor

Temporary Visitor

We are bunny-sitting over Christmas for some lucky friends that have gone on holiday. His name is Cloudy and he is just the cutest thing ever. He was very shy to begin with and it took him a while to adjust to the floorboards, but as he slowly gets used to us, he’s becoming more adventurous.

He’s a very curious bunny and we’ve given him free reign of the living room and kitchen, after the husband rabbit proofed all the cables (“if he eats through this cable we won’t have any internet and I won’t be happy!” he says). We had to chase him down to get him back into his pen overnight. Either he was really scared, or he thought it was a fun game to try and out run us. He’s so cute though, so it’s hard to be annoyed with him.

Project 365 2012 – Day 347

Tradition

Tradition

We went to go see Skyfall last night, and even though I didn’t like it as a Bond film, I thought overall it was a good film. Much better than Quantum of Solace.

We don’t see movies much in recent times because it’s always so expensive and the movies are disappointing and people can’t go for two hours without checking their phones or being generally annoying. Hence why we were seeing it on Tightass Tuesday.

However, we used to see them all the time when we first started going out and I used to fold cranes and other animals out of the tickets. It only seems right to continue the tradition, so many years later.
