Today was the last day of work before new management take over, and we get seconded to help with the transition until the new staff settle in. It’s the start of change and uncertainty. We don’t know what kind of help they’ll need, or if we have to train them up with our equipment, which adds burden to an already busy workload. We’ll all be moved to different sites, but when that actually happens is another issue. The worst part of it is that my team gets broken up. I’ve been working there since I was qualified and my workmates are like family to me. To celebrate/commiserate, a few of us went out for dinner and drinks on Hardware Lane at Campari House. It was a lovely warm night, probably the last we’ll have for a while.
